정말이에요? 그건 위험해요!
‘under’는 ‘~ 아래에’라는 의미이고 ‘influence’는 ‘영향’이라는 의미이므로 ‘under the influence’는 직역하면 ‘영향 아래에’라는 뜻이지만 ‘술 기운에’의 의미를 가집니다. 따라서 ‘drive under the influence’는 ‘음주운전을 하다’라는 의미가 됩니다.
